Reminiscence Sessions
 

 

 

 

 

As well as being a rag rug maker/teacher, I have also worked as an activity co-ordinator (with training in reminiscence work) and have found that the craft of rag rug making - practised in people's homes up and down the country during the 'make do and mend' era of the 1930s and 40s, brings back many vivid memories for older people, men as well as women!

 

I would love to come and demonstrate the craft in your home, bringing my old tools, rugs and recycled fabrics. During the session, individuals who wish to, can handle fabrics, tools and rugs and be helped to 'have a go' themselves. The sharing of rug making memories as well as recollections of 'Hearth and Home' will be positively encouraged!
